Williams

Gwen Williams is a writer moving from the structure of contracts to the freedom of the creative. Gwen’s journey to date includes roles as Assistant General Manager for Supply Chain Services at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), Project Manager in Los Angeles and Tripoli, Libya for the engineering firm AECOM, Executive Officer for Contracts at LA Metro, and Principal Consultant at her firm, WYSA & Associates where she worked on various project management projects. She holds a M.S from USC and is a Project Management Professional (PMP).

For the past 30+ years she’s worked as a project manager and procurement/contracts professional tasked with implementation of major change initiatives in both the public and private sectors. Along the road she’s also secretly written poetry and publicly developed various corporate communication vehicles such as LADWP’s quarterly publication, Supply Line, for which she wrote a column entitled “Director’s Notes”.

She is currently working on a multi-narrator novel inspired by memoir and completely agrees with her first namesake, Gwendolyn Brooks, that “Writing is delicious agony.”
